THE BURDEN OF BEAUTY

I walk under the bloom

As branches bend with beauty,

Not all perfection is weightless,

Even the blossom must bare its

Burden upon a branch

Wonderful poem–and that tree! It is so beautiful, and I can imagine children playing under those branches. But yes, the burden of beauty, in all its forms.

Thank you Merril! There were lots of kids around as itโ€™s in the jardin des plantes but I managed to push them all out of the way, gently, to take the photo ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Wise and wonderful.
Perfection is a burden to carry, an impossibility to maintain – yet we all know beauty, however fleeting.
